STEM Bicycle Club

The STEM Lab is excited to get the STEM Bicycle grant from Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative!

Students breakdown and re-assemble bikes theY get to keep! The STEM Bicycle Club builds student confidence and problem solving skills while reinforcing and bringing relevance to math and science principles taught during the school day. Through the involvement of community mentors and coaches, the club also exposes students to STEM career possibilities.  Retired General Electric Engineer Thomas Barnes, along with several community volunteers and The STEM Lab, will lead this special engineering club. We will also have the Forest Park Fire Department help us with bicycle safety and even get to show our wheels and skills at the community-wide Safety First event. On Saturday, May 19th our club will attend the Celebrate Bicycle Club event at the University of Cincinnati!

If you are a Winton Woods Middle School student, please inquire via email for an application at Info@CincySTEMLab.com

Testimonials

E. Jackson (Mt. Healthy School)

"The program was fun an informative for Kayden. He enjoyed coming and learning something new relating to the earth everyday. The hands-on instruction was very beneficial for Kayden because he is so busy. Overall the program was great and we are ready to sign him up again."

Katie H. (Urban Up-cycling Gardening Workshop)

"Chelsea was an awesome teacher. She made the class fun, informative, laid back, and hands-on. I would love to take another class with her!"

T. McRay (Kilgour Elementary)

"I thought the program was excellent for my children who are different ages. The experiments and learning that took place over the week was great and to see it all come together through presentation was awesome! This program is top of my list for next summer."

Rockdale Academy Elementary School Teacher, Summer Camp Director

"This program allowed our students to learn about simple machines in an interactive and fun way. The entire time students were engaged and stated how much fun they were having. We will definitely be continuing this partnership."

Pleasant Hill Academy Principal, S. McDowell

“It has been a pleasure to work with Chelsea and Docere4Parents. The parent engagement events have been impactful. The program was professional and she delivered on everything we asked. We look forward to partnering again.”
