In this week’s edition of Biz Beat presented by the Cincinnati Business Courier, Local 12’s Kyla Woods spoke with Chelsea Clark, founder and CEO of The STEM Lab. Clark discussed the need for STEM education as a way to foster children’s problem-solving and critical thinking skills, the development of The STEM Lab as a place for students to experience hands-on activities that run the gamut of STEM disciplines, and walked viewers through a fun chemistry activity using red cabbage powder.

March 4, 2020 - As the great philosopher and biologist Herbert Spencer once said, "Science is organized knowledge." The Director/CEO of The STEM Lab dropped by to show how she is helping the next generation understand this knowledge through play and experiments.
April 2019 - The STEM Lab was surprised when they arrived at the Cincinnati Museum Center to see their face gracing the Cincy Mini Maker Faire ad! “Our community is brimming with bright, innovative minds that are redefining what’s possible,” said Elizabeth Pierce, president and CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center. “Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire is an incredible opportunity to showcase their talent and ingenuity while igniting the creativity and imagination of future makers.”
The STEM Lab was thrilled to be chosen to give a pitch for a coveted spot on Shark Tank in the fall of 2019! Although it didn't result in a second round, this local company learned a lot about pitching for investors. Stay tuned for more pitches from them.
Docere STEAM (nonprofit sister company to The STEM Lab) enjoyed a fun-filled day with their Robotics & Coding Class from Mt. Airy at the Great American Ballpark. Thanks to pro Baseball player Matt Kemp of the Cincinnati Reds, the class got to get a signed baseball, backpack, meet-and-greet, and of course a great game!
December 2018 - The STEM Lab's First Lego League Robotic's Team won the coveted Judges Choice award last weekend at the regional qualifier competition in West Carrollton.
January 2018 - Docere STEAM held its 2nd Annual STEM Community Resource Fair and Science competition in partnership with Orion Academy. Three students advanced to the UC District Science and Engineering Fair to be held later this spring. A total of 24 science projects were submitted under the guidance of Bradley Lanier and his UC Graduate team. A board member of Docere STEAM, Bradley and his team helped guide the young scientists and coordinated the judging. The local NAACP chapter Education Chair passed out 24 trophies.
December 2017 - Founder Chelsea Nuss wins the Judges Choice Award and monetary prize to launch The STEM Lab! Competing against 29 other companies in Southwest Ohio, The STEM Labs concept of STEM concepts paired with unseen creative programming made it a step above the rest.
